|If Andy doesn't want to do pre-season, why should he have to?|
Comments made by former England, Newcastle, Worcester, London Irish, Wasps, Leicester Tigers, Brive, Saracens and Natal Sharks player Andy Goode to Premiership Rugby (see video below) have given fans a glimmer of hope: he might be back, but with one condition - he won't do 'pre-season'.
Fan favourite Goode has also made the shock claim that the RPA Premiership Player of the Year - Alex Goode - is in fact his son, ending years of speculation on the matter.
In a piece to camera Goode says he was "delighted my young son Alex Goode has won the Premiership Player of the Year. You will one day adopt our name. You're not Alex 'Good', you are Alex 'Goode'.
The burly flyhalf continues: "Pre-season is looming. I will not do that. I will come back after pre-season. I don't know which club yet".
All in jest? We'll have to wait until next season to find out.
