Many think World Rugby should formally ban this practice from the sport

One of the first things you're taught in rugby is not to jump or hurdle tackles. For a long time Rugby Onslaught presumed it was illegal, but in fact there is no Law specifically catering to the move. Many referees deem it to constitute an act of 'dangerous play', but ultimately it's at their discretion, and some - like this ref - let it go.
