Horror footage calls into question New Zealand's right to hold the RWC trophy

Many are questioning whether or not New Zealand should hand back the Webb Ellis Trophy after a rogue basketball knocked the precious cup from a moving vehicle in the capital Wellington.

The freshly won Rugby World Cup was being paraded by the apparently careless All Blacks to eager peasants when an act of utter contempt from an angry local saw the trophy toppled from its perch atop a pick-up truck.

Fast thinking from local law enforcement saved the day, but it was the behaviour of captain Richie McCaw and elderly coach Steve Hansen in the aftermath that has drawn fire. Both clearly attempt to cover-up the incident showing scant regard for the trophy's rich history and cultural importance.
