'Why didn't you ask us for help?'- Neil Back blasts Lancaster's England in explosive interview

Neil Back has blasted Stuart Lancaster's England set-up for not seeking out his or his 2003 World Cup winning teammates advice in the lead up to their disastrous campaign.

"If we are looking at the game and saying there was an issue with the contact area, well, that was my area of expertise, and I did okay at it. I'd be more than happy or willing to speak to anyone. If it's going to help England improve and win a World Cup then I'm there," Back told Killik Rugby.

The former England openside reveals that as far as he's aware neither Clive Woodward nor Martin Johnson were contacted by anyone in Lancaster's England set-up in the lead up to the tournament. Back also reveals that while he believes cross-code athlete Sam Burgess is a 'phenomenal' player, that they'll never know if a 'seasoned International' like Luther Burrell might been a better option.

Earlier in the week that England flanker James Haskell slammed Back in a torrid Twitter exchange over a selfie stick. Haskell said: "I wasn't even playing! You're so old and out of touch your eyes dont work. I hope your book sales go better than your coaching" and "you were one of my childhood heroes, yet the general negativity towards myself and the team is appalling."
